Concept

For this one room project, we were tasked with transforming the first room you see upon entering the house. We took this as an opportunity to set the tone for the rest of the home and introduce our client’s style. As the clients has a more relaxed separate living room with a television, we were able to create a more formal space catered to entertaining and conversation. We wanted the room to feel especially layered with texture, pattern, and antiques. The gridded velvet fabric we chose for the four swivel chairs centered in the room echoed the hard straight lines of the custom built bookcases and a beautiful marble fireplace mantle. These hard lines were balanced by a custom hand-woven tasseled rug, the warm wood carvings on an antique mirror found in Paris, and our custom walnut console. Luckily, the results spoke for themselves and we are excited to be moving onto other spaces in the home.
